CAMSIS-Vietnam
We have constructed scales for Vietnam for 1989, 1999 and 2009 using occupational data from IPUMS-I.
The scales have been constructed using semi-automated correspondence analysis routines in Stata. The ranking of the scales is, we think, satisfactory, but users should beware that the numeric values of the scales are heavily influenced by the scores given to the populous agricultural occupational categories (i.e. since all occupational scores together are standardised to mean 50, the values given to other occupations are a direct function of the values given to the agricultural categories).
